Gleichapel is pleased to announce the first screening in France of Chinese Democracy and the Last Day on Earth (2012-2014), a video trilogy by New York based Italian artist Federico Solmi. 

Chinese Democracy and the Last Day on Earth will be the first edition of a video cycle on drawings in motion, curated by Jeff Gleich and Tristan van der Stegen. It will be exhibited during the Drawing Now Art Fair in Paris (held at the Carreau du Temple, only a few blocks away). A selection of works on paper by Federico Solmi will also be presented and available for sale in support of Gleichapel’s platform.

Spare Parts

Gleichapel presents a set of paintings from a series by Olivier Filippi. Initiated in 2012, the works are characterised by the doubling of the height of each new painting in the series. The installation of this group is linked to the particularities of the site – a public window on the street, giving way to a 9 square meter room. Gleichapel is located in the Upper Marais. It is illuminated from 14h – midnight daily.

CHRONOZONE

Daniel Zeller

Daniel Zeller’s Chronozone, a monumental drawing from 1999, will be on view in the newly founded Gleichapel, a “public room” seen through a window situated in the upper Marais neighborhood of Paris. This first presentation in the ‘chapel’ initiates a series of collaborative projects for the future and Daniel Zeller’s first solo project since exhibiting at g-module in the years 2004 and 2006).
